Silver Seal Whisky Company

Silver Seal Whisky Company is an Italian independent bottler of both whiskey and rum. The company was founded in 2000 owned and operated by Massimo Righi, who buys casks produced in different distilleries and bottle them under their own brand. Silver Seal arises from the defunct company Sestante that Massimo himself helped to start in 1979.

Massimo's motto and company slogan is; "... Excellence can not be for everyone ..." and it shines through in all their bottlings. Silver Seal make very few bottlings each year and tabs only the best casks on the bottle.

Everyone can in principle buy their own cask and pins under his own name, but it is a very small and closed group which offered the best casks, directly from the best manufacturers. Massimo says that when a distillery has a cask that is very special they send him a sample, and thus he receives hundreds of samples per year. Many casks and distilleries are rejected in the process, and he is by his own admission, not afraid to pay over 100,000 euros for the "right" cask. When he has found the right cask put it aside, where it then store for perfection. As soon as Massimo buy a cask it will be transported to his own storage facilities in Scotland, so the casks don't some how gets mixed up with other casks. Then the casks are allowed to store on until Massimo believes that the dish is ready to be bottled under the name Silver Seal.

Most of bottling are bottled as single cask at an alcohol content from 46 and up, which means that each version is only produced in a very limited run of a few hundred bottles. The bottles are numbered with a total production versions, a unique number, a cask number and where the rum or whisky has been distilled and the distillation year and bottled year.

The new series of whiskey and rum, which has been collected in 2015, is called Wildlife Collection, and is characterized by a very colorful and lively label universe with images of parrots in the jungle and large African animals on the savannah. All Silver Seal's bottlings have no added sugar or caramel. Their rum is truly unique and authentic and aimed to rum connoisseur, and is certainly good assembly or investment objects.

Silver Seal Enmore 2002 55%

This rum has been distilled by Demerara Distillers of Guyana, which is still distills rum in the old, legendary stills from both the 1700s and 1800s. The Wooden Continuous Coffey also called EHP Wooden Still is the last functioning still in the world of its kind. The Stills is similar to, if not identical, to the first continuous still ever, built and patented by Aeneas Coffey in 1832, who also gave his name to the device. This Wooden Coffey Still is the original and only survived from the old Enmore Sugar Estate, which was established by Edward Henry Porter for more than 200 years ago. Since 1880 Enmore Sugar Estate produced a medium bodied rum with a mild and fruity aroma.

Often referred to The Wooden Continuous Coffey Still as Enmore Still, as this is the only remaining from Enmore Sugar Estate. The stillsproduce large quantities of rum, but this rum is seen rarely tapped for themselves. Demerara Distillers typically use Enmore distillate as a blending component in their own rum series, but here you have all the opportunity to taste the pure Enmore-rum. A very exciting, elegant and complex taste experience.

When you drink this rum, you will be surprised. There is full speed on alcohol strength and you are almost thrown away when you taste it. The scent is both licorice find in Enmore 2002, 46% and Enmore 2003 50%, but that this is the sweet licorice, then lakridsnoten very salty on this Enmore 2002 of 55%. Besides salt licorice are found in the fragrance dish, brown sugar, tobacco and a hint of citrus. There's plenty of power on this medium bodied rum, which holds 55% alcohol. Among flavor notes you will find, among other dry fruit platter, molasses and leather.

There is bottled 840 bottles of this rum, which is a mixture of several different dishes. The rum is distilled in 2002 and has a beautiful reddish color.
