Matusalem Rum
Matusalem & Company was founded by brothers Benjamin and Eduardo Camp, who left Spain and settled in Santiago de Cuba in 1872 for the purpose of establishing a rum distillery, the Matusalem company has been made by the same family for generations. The company originally took root in Santiago de Cuba, where it eventually became one of the most successful Cuban rum producers, during the 1950s, the brand was one of the top premium rums in Cuba, competing with Bacardi and Havana Club. Of course, in 1959, Castro's little revolution upset the apple cart, and Matusalem was forced to leave Cuba for the Dominican Republic. The company currently produces its rum in the city of San Diego in the Dominican Republic.
Known as the Cognac of Rums, this Solera rum is the perfect choice for those who seek exceptional quality and exquisite flavor. Complex, but with a velvety smoothness, and a marked bouquet and flavor. Gran Reserva 15 and Reserva 20 is both super premium rum, ideal for drinking neat or on the rocks.

Deep amber in colour with an orange, coppery iridescence. You get dried fruit over sweet pastry tones on the nose. Sensations of fresh honey and a touch of magnolia and almond flower are present. A base of caramelised sugar and toffee, combine with mango and exotic woods and cedar, along with a slight hint of white chocolate and almond. Matusalem 23 Gran Reserva has a very fine, elegant and creamy flavour. With a base of licorice and overtones of toasted almonds and hazelnut. A highly complex rum, beginning with fresh, and fruity sensations, which gradually evolve in sophistication and ending with a final touch that's reminiscent of sherry.
